Sunshine Boosts Retail Sales Figures in May

According to the British Retail Consortium-KPMG Retail Sales Monitor, the performance of UK retail sales in May broadly mirrored the change in weather, with slower sales in the earlier, wetter part of the month and better sales coming as the weather became drier and warmer. Helen Dickinson, head of retail at KPMG, said: “After a dismal April, May was a much better month and many retailers will be breathing a small sigh of relief.
