Climate-conscious small firms have until the 5th November to pitch for a grant of up to £40,000 by entering the Shell Springboard awards. Entrants to the Shell Springboard awards are required to demonstrate that their product or service will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions or combat climate change, and that it is innovative or commercially viable. Judges will also take into consideration the likely impact that the grant will have on the project. Green Small Businesses Offered EU Grants

Small business owners needing cash to get their ideas for green products and services off the ground can now apply for the European Commission’s new €35 million eco-innovation fund. The fund is part of the EU’s Eco-Innovation scheme, which is now in its second year. Funding is available for new projects within the following areas: recycling sustainable building products food and drink green business practices.
