Businesses in Wales, Yorkshire and Scotland Lead Export Growth

Wales, Yorkshire and Scotland had the largest growth in the number of British businesses exporting between 2011 and 2014, a report by Santander Corporate and Commercial has found. The number of Welsh enterprises doing business abroad (4,900) rose quicker than any other region, with the amount of firms exporting up 32% between 2011 and 2014. This figure compares with 21% growth in Yorkshire & Humberside (13,900), 17% growth in Scotland (11,100), 12% in the East Midlands (14,900), and 11% in the North West (17,100).
