North West start-ups receive additional support

The Government has provided £35 million of funding to establish more business support for start–ups in the north west of England. From April this year, the Business Start Up programme will offer a package of business support, training and advice, aimed at increasing the survival rate of start–ups in the region. The business support will be administered through Business Link Northwest. Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) spokesman Neil Roscoe said: “There will be more intensive support available, and we aim to reach more businesses with the new programme,” As part of the plans, targeted support will be available for female entrepreneurs, over–50s, black and minority ethnic, disabled and social entrepreneurs.
