Here Comes Global Entrepreneurship Week

12th November 2010

Global Entrepreneurship WeekBusiness owners attending this year’s Global Entrepreneurship Week will be able to access advice to help them grow their firms and aid the economic recovery, the event’s organisers have said.

From 15th to 21st November, events will take place around the UK aimed at inspiring prospective and existing business owners to take advantage of opportunities to expand.

Organiser Enterprise UK has shifted the focus of this year’s events to growth in response to the Prime Minister’s plans to make the next ten years “an entrepreneurial decade”. This includes helping people with business ideas to get through the perceived barriers to starting up.

“This year our call to action for entrepreneurs is that it’s time to make a job, not just take a job, and to play a role in helping to grow the economy and create more jobs,”

said Enterprise UK chief executive, Tom Bewick.

“Delegates can learn the skills they need to develop their products and sell them not just here but also abroad. Some of the events are about information-sharing and inspiration, while others are very hands-on and practical.”

Events during the week will be hosted by a range of organisations, including the British LibraryHM Revenue & CustomsEverywoman and the National Federation of Enterprise Agencies.

Taking place throughout the week, sessions include:

  • The Perfect your Pitch workshop in London where entrepreneurs can learn how to impress investors
  • Meet the Entrepreneur networking and mentoring event in Northumberland
  • The Perfect Business Plan workshop in London
  • The Selling a Service or Product workshop in Bury St Edmunds
  • The Everywoman National Conference in London.
