Business owners sharing pearls of wisdom on social networking website Twitter could win one-on-one consultancy advice in a new business competition organised by HSBC.

To enter, business owners should tweet their most insightful piece of advice in the Twitter format and include the hashtag #100thoughts. The total message must be no more than 140 characters.

The five most inspiring and distinctive comments will each win a VIP invitation to a series of networking panel debates featuring leading business personalities such as economist David Bloom and serial entrepreneur Sir Eric Peacock.

The invite-only events are being held around the country between May and July 2010, and the winners will get exclusive access to the expert panel for questions and debate.

One overall winner, voted for by the public, will also win a prize of a one-to-one consultation with a leading business guru, who is yet to be announced. 

The competition is part of HSBC’s 100 Thoughts campaign, which has gathered business insight from entrepreneurs around the world to share with and inspire others.

The deadline for entries to the competition is 14 June 2010. The five individual winners will be entered into a public online vote between 21 June and 7 July.  The overall winner will be announced on 8 July.
