The self-assessment deadline is 31st January 2008 – hurry or you’ll be fined.
Just a little reminder for self-employed business owners – if you haven’t already completed and submitted your tax self-assessment forms then you have only a couple of days to go.
The deadline is midnight on the 31st so your form needs to be with your local tax office. If not, Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs will fine you £100 and charge you interest on what you owe. However, if you have no tax to pay then you have no fine to pay, but still get that tax return in on time!
The HMRC’s online services are proving to be a big hit, so if you have your PIN then submit your tax return online.
900,000 people missed the deadline last year and around 150,000 tax returns were filed on the last deadline day.
