Business Owners ‘Uninspiring’ as Workers Turn Towards Their Colleagues For Leadership

Just 18% of workers find the leader or CEO of their company inspiring, according to a report from Present. The survey of 145 business professionals working at companies with 500+ employees revealed that 44% of respondents look towards their colleagues for inspiration and guidance and not the business owner. A massive 80% of workers believe the way a task is presented to them has a direct impact on their motivation to do the job with 35% stating they don’t hear from their leaders on strategy or the company vision regularly, but when they do, 55% find the presentation “uninspiring and repetitive”. 78% of those surveyed expect their leaders to tell a story about their brand – suggesting a lot more is being asked of business owners them than they may realise.
