Businesses Urged to Part-Exchange Broken Ladders

Employers who have staff working at height are being given the chance to obtain new ladders, as part of a new safety initiative launched by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Under the HSE’s 2009 Ladder Exchange scheme, employers are urged to make sure that all ladders used in the workplace are safe, by checking to see if they are broken, bent or battered.  Businesses are also being encouraged to trade in their old ladders, in part-exchange for new and potentially safer alternatives. Discounts of up to 50 per cent are available from a number of HSE trade partners, including HSS Hire and ladderstore.com.
