One Third Of Business Owners Ignore Employees Suffering From Dementia

One in three UK employees claim their employer fails to offer any additional help or support for dementia sufferers, according to a report by PMI Health Group. Their study, of workers who have worked alongside dementia suffers, revealed that over half received no formal education or training on the condition from their employer The number of people developing dementia is increasing year-on-year, with the Alzheimer’s Society predicting there will be 150,000 diagnosed with the condition by 2025. Although normally associated with old age, more than 40,000 people in the UK under 65 are currently suffering from the condition.
