Entrepreneurs Using Apps in Record Numbers
70% of small business owners are now integrating technology into the day-to-day running of their business
The majority of small businesses are using apps to run their business, according to a study released by Intuit Inc this week.
The study, which included 2,000 small business owners in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia, revealed that 68% of small businesses regularly use technology such as apps and cloud-based tools to operate more efficiently, freeing up time to focus on growth.
Despite the increased use of apps and the cloud, there were a number of business owners who cited issues with the current technology available.
Around two-in-five business owners said there were too many business-related apps to choose from, 41% were unsure of which apps were best for their business, and 39% were concerned about the cost of integration and training staff to use apps.
Nevertheless, the increased use of technology by small businesses across the world could be beneficial in the long run.
Vinay Pai, vice president and head of the Intuit Developer Group, said:
“We’re thrilled that small business owners around the world are transforming how they run their business, and integrating innovative new technologies to improve how they operate.”
