Richard Cooper is Vice President, Director of Marketing Strategy for FIS. His global remit gives him responsibility for defining and executing FIS’ marketing strategy in the company’s 100+ markets outside of North America.
FIS is the world’s number one provider of banking technology to the financial sector, serving 13,000 clients worldwide. Richard joined FIS through Metavante Technologies Limited, one of Europe’s leading prepaid processors with the remit to promote the business throughout Europe and beyond.
In 2009, FIS acquired Metavante and Richard took up his current role leading the company’s international marketing function. Prior to joining Metavante in 2009, Richard was Marketing Director at VocaLink, the UK payment processor where he delivered the rebranding and marketing strategy as part of the merger between Voca and LINK.
Richard’s career includes working for three years as Product Management and Marketing Director for First Data International within the card issuing business in the EMEA region. He joined First Data from Visa International where he worked for 13 years within the EU Region.
His final position being Vice President, Consumer Market Development during which time he was responsible for marketing Visa’s debit, credit and acquiring products across the region.
Richard has an MBA from Henley Management College and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
