Business Bank Accounts – The Basics

At Lloyds TSB Commercial, our business bank account is designed to help you start up and set out on your business journey.

Why is my business bank account so important?

Time is precious when starting up a business, so it’s important to have the right bank account in place to support the day-to-day banking needs of your business. It also means you’ll be in a stronger position when it comes to maintaining your records or doing your year-end returns.

What we offer our business banking customers

We understand how daunting starting your own business can be, that’s why we have Local Business Managers in our branches to support you, a range of free guidance services to get you off on the right foot, and 18 months free day-to-day business banking*; so you can spend less time worrying about your banking and more time building your business.

Support from your own relationship manager

When you join us, you’ll get a named relationship manager to call on for help and guidance.

Free business planning software –

Lloyds TSB Commercial is working with Sage, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of business management software, to offer you a free and easy-to-use business planning tool.

Sage Planning for Business will guide you step-by-step through the key things you need to consider to get your business off the ground, such as forecasting your cashflow or setting out your marketing approach. Your ideas will then be held together in a professional business plan that you can review and add to whenever you want.

*Free day-to-day business banking for 18 months

Free day-to-day banking can make all the difference to a new business.

During the first 18 months you will not be charged for:

  • paying in or taking out cash,
  • paying in or issuing cheques,
  • paying standing orders and UK Sterling Direct Debits.

There is no limit on the number of deposits or withdrawals, and you do not need to keep a minimum balance in your account to qualify.

All we ask is that you operate your account within agreed limits, for example not going overdrawn without prior agreement.
