Who Are Britain’s Best Part-time Leaders?
Often regarded as a full time job, leadership is now being recognised as just as important in a part time basis as the search for Britain’s top 50 part time leaders takes flight.
Launched by Karen Mattison MBE, the founder of part-time job agency Timewise, the nationwide competition is looking for Britain’s top 50 business leaders that work anything other than the regular 9 to 5.
Karen and her company want to find and champion these inspirational leaders and to fly the flag for the country’s part-time senior management, whether they work for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or big "blue chip" companies.
Timewise want to hear about these part-time CEOs and heads of business who are recognised leaders, that drive their teams to success and yet they might be working from home 2 days a week just to be with their family or taking a half day every Wednesday just to contribute their time to other deserving causes.
How to Nominate a Part-time Leader
Anyone can nominate their pick for one of Britain’s top 50 part time leaders – You can nominate your own MD, a friend or colleague or you might even be immodest enough to want to nominate yourself.
To be eligible, your nominee must:
- Regularly work fewer than 5 days a week
- Challenge the long-held notion that the very best leaders traditionally only work full time
- Be leading the way for other workers who wish to benefit from flexible working
- Be an inspirational leader – is there another story to be told about this person’s leadership style and success?
The judging panel consists of Steve Varley, Managing Partner of Ernst & Young, Emma De Vita, Features Editor of Management Today magazine, and Karen Mattison, founder & Director of Timewise.
It is free to nominate your chosen part-time leader and you can do so anonymously too if you wish to do so. All you have to do is explain, in a couple of hundred words or so, why the nominee deserves to be on the top 50 list. The closing date for nominations is Monday the 1st of October 2012.
Timewise will approach the nominee to ensure that they are happy to have their name placed on the list.
So if you know a part-time leader you’d like to nominate, please nominate them now.
