Virgin Says to Small Businesses: Screw Business As Usual
Business owners with ideas on how to “make business a force for good” have been called on to enter Virgin Unite’s Screw Business As Usual competition and be in with the chance of winning a money-can’t-buy prize with Sir Richard Branson.
Virgin Unite’s Screw Business As Usual initiative calls on small firms to become a force for good — putting people, planet and profit at the core of what they do. Any firm with ideas on how to change the way business is done so that it makes peoples’ live better can enter.
Applicants can upload their ideas either as short written pitches or videos. An entry can be a story or brief description of a business or social enterprise in action anywhere in the world.
“Never has there been a more exciting time for us all to explore this great next frontier where the boundaries between work and purpose are merging into one, where doing good, really is good for business,” said Sir Richard Branson.
As part of the prize, the winner will get to meet frontline leaders who are making a difference, share ideas with young entrepreneurs at the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship, South Africa, and then get to spend several days with Sir Richard and the rest of the group, experiencing the wildlife of South Africa at his private game reserve.
They will also have the opportunity to discuss their business ideas with Sir Richard and be featured in his new book.
The deadline for entries is 17 April.
