Small Businesses: Enter the Work Experience Awards
Businesses that offer outstanding work placements are urged to enter the National Council for Work Experience (NCWE) awards 2012.
The awards recognise businesses where work placements and graduate internships make a real difference to both the business and the student.
Small businesses can enter themselves or be nominated in several award categories:
- Work placement of the year ― best SME (10-250 employees)
- Work placement of the year― best micro enterprise (under 10 employees)
- Graduate internship of the year― best SME
- Graduate internship of the year― best micro enterprise
There are also awards for overall ‘work placement of the year’ and ‘best employment experience’, as nominated by careers advisers and students.
Entrants are judged on a variety of criteria ranging from induction to objectives and assessment. Finalists will be announced next February and the awards given at a ceremony in March at the Merchant Taylor’s Hall in London.
Last year’s overall winner was micro-business Champions Life Academy. Their brand and recruitment co-ordinator Charline Roberts said:
“We prepare young people for the business world through our annual 12-week fundraising programme, equipping interns with progress into our management team. We feel that we offer an exceptional opportunity for students to get hands-on experience of many business areas, so it’s extremely rewarding to be recognised.”
Winners will receive a package of marketing support that includes press coverage and the right to use the NCWE logo on their marketing materials to highlight their success and help them attract future students and interns.
Don’t forget to submit your entry before the closing deadline – 9th December 2011
