Top Employers for Working Families Awards
Family-friendly firms to be recognised
Small businesses that can demonstrate outstanding support for employees who are parents or carers are being called on to enter the Top Employers for Working Families Awards and have their achievements recognised.
The awards aim to recognise small businesses with a culture that supports parents and carers within their workforce, and go beyond legal requirements on flexible working to benefit their employees. Award categories include Best for Flexibility, Best for Carers and Best for Mothers.
Entrants are required to complete an online survey to find out how family-friendly their policies are. Award winners will receive publicity in the national and local media. All applicants will also receive a benchmarking report to enable them to compare their measures with other small firms.

said Working Families chief executive, Sarah Jackson.
“The unique benchmark survey will help employers to develop excellent people policy and practice, based on an inclusive approach to their employees and support for the full diversity of their lives outside work, of their responsibilities to their wider families and other dependents.”
The deadline for entries is 30th June 2011. The Top Employers for Working Families Awards do have an entry fee of £150 for small businesses. The winners will be announced during Working Families National Work-Life Week (The 26th to the 30th September 2011).
