SMEs Enter IT Service Excellence Awards
Small firms in the IT service sector can compete for prizes worth thousands of pounds, following the launch of the IT Service Excellence Awards.
The IT Service Excellence Awards, organised by the Service Desk Institute (SDI), is seeking entrants that demonstrate excellence, professionalism and innovation in the IT sector.
Categories open to small businesses include ‘Professional of the Year’, for individuals who have gone beyond the call of duty in their dedication to their team and customers, and ‘Supplier of the Year’ voted for in an online customer survey. The ‘Small team of the Year’ category is dedicated to firms with fewer than 15 support professionals.
The winning candidate in each category will receive a cash prize —£1,000 is on offer for the Small team of the Year award.
“Winners and finalists will receive press coverage as well as publicity on our website,”
said SDI events and marketing director, Emma Spears.
“The winners are also invited back as judges for the following year, and they get asked onto the speaking circuit so it raises their profile no end. It’s a great free way to provide some fantastic team building and get recognition for your team.”
Applicants must show how they meet each of the nine benchmarks of the SDI Service Desk Certification standard, such as leadership, policy and strategy and key performance results.
The deadline for entries is 18 March 2011 and an award ceremony will be held on 14 June 2011.
