Best Small Business Internships to be Recognised
Small businesses with outstanding internship and work experience schemes have been called on to apply for the National Council for Work Experience (NCWE) Awards.
The NCWE Awards recognise the importance of a well–planned work placement or internship scheme, and offer publicity for employers who show that both their interns and their businesses benefited from their schemes. Winners will receive regional and national press coverage as well as publicity on the NCWE website.
The competition includes two awards dedicated to small businesses, one for those with fewer than ten staff and another for firms with 10–250 employees. Small firms can also compete against larger businesses in other categories including the ‘Charitable Sector’ and ‘Best Newcomer’.
Employers can apply directly or be nominated by an intern. All entries must be based on work experience offered to students on degree programmes or in higher or further education in the UK.
“We’re now in the seventh year of the awards and their increasing popularity reflects the growing importance of work experience in allowing students to develop skills while providing companies with a talent pool for recruitment,”
said NCWE director Heather Collier.
“With more companies competing than ever before our winners have done exceptionally well, demonstrating best practice for others to follow.”
The deadline for entries is 10th December 2010.
