New B2B iPhone app puts businesses in control of their bills, freeing up precious time and saving money.
From today, British businesses will be able to control their energy bills from their pocket or briefcase, as British Gas Business launches the first meter reading application for the iPhone, iPod and iPad.
With a growing number of British Gas Business customers using iPhones, which is currently estimated at over 60,000, the free iPhone app will be a quick and convenient way to update gas or electricity meter readings. The meter reading app ensures greater billing accuracy and smarter working by freeing up precious time. Nearly 20% of all calls to British Gas Business are from companies and organisations with meter reading related issues. This new innovation will enable customers to focus on running their business whilst also potentially saving money by not getting estimated bills.
This latest development supports the growing numbers of UK businesses using smart phone technology and iPhone business apps to manage their operations. Smartphone adoption in the UK rose 70% to 11.2 million users during the year to January 2010, making the UK the leading European market for smartphone users (ComScore).
British Gas Business is the first energy supplier to develop this latest innovation for the UK business market and follows the highly successful launch of the British Gas iPhone app in December 2009 to residential customers – downloaded by over 70,000 people and ranked number eight in The Daily Telegraph’s top saving apps.
