Dragon Launches £10k Start-up Fund
Start-up firms and budding entrepreneurs have been called on to pitch for investment, following the launch of a £10,000 enterprise fund by Dragons’ Den entrepreneur Peter Jones.
The Enterprise Business Challenge fund has been launched by Jones in association with the National Enterprise Academy (NEA).
To enter, applicants should submit a written online proposal outlining their business case at www.peterjones.tv. Entrants can also choose to make a three-minute online video presentation to support their bid. The deadline for applications is 2 July.
Ten shortlisted candidates will be invited to take part in a face-to-face pitch with Jones and his investment judging panel in London on 22 July. The winner will receive £10,000 as well as advice and consultancy from leading businesses including accountancy firm Grant Thornton and PR specialist Blue Rubicon.
“Small businesses and entrepreneurs are the dynamo that drives the British economy,” said Peter Jones. “The Enterprise Business Challenge is for all those entrepreneurs and innovative start-up businesses that need a helping hand to get started.
“Now more than ever, we need to encourage and work alongside small firms and entrepreneurs to stimulate economic growth from within and make sure that great business opportunities and great British business talent isn’t missed.”
