The Big Kick Off to Wear Your Shirt Day 2010
The campaign is encouraging businesses and individuals to show their team spirit and demonstrate the generosity of football fans by helping under-privileged children in the UK. To get involved all they have to do is wear their football shirts to work for the small price of £1.
Patrick Smith, spokesperson for Wear Your Shirt Day said:
“We’d love all businesses and football clubs to get involved in our campaign. We’re raising money to help kids in the UK– all people have to do to support us is wear their shirt.”
“We live a privileged life as a footballer, so it’s great to be help out a charity like Free Kicks that creates a great day out for kids at football matches,”
said Robbie Savage, the Derby County captain.
“It’d be great if Derby County fans and fans of other clubs could support this campaign.”
The money raised will help Free Kicks to continue providing football-related activities for ill, bereaved and disadvantaged children across the UK.
