Free Guide Helps Businesses Plan 2010 Strategy
Small businesses can find out how to capitalise on the economic recovery, following the publication of a free guide by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
The Survival to Sustainability guide sets out seven key areas that businesses should consider, including identifying new markets, managing cashflow and taking advantage of increasing consumer confidence. It also offers tips on staffing issues and understanding risk in a changing economy.
ICAEW chief executive, Michael Izza, said that the guide had been launched to coincide with the beginning of the upturn and would help firms tap into recovering markets.
“There is certainly a sense that businesses have got through the worst. Those that took tough decisions during the downturn are now well positioned to take advantage of the brightening economic picture.”
“Although a recovery will bring with it opportunities, it will also bring additional challenges and we hope that the information we have put together will help firms in the year ahead.”
