Trade minister to be grilled at BCC Business Convention


Mervyn Davies, Minister for Trade and Investment, will be interviewed by the BBC journalist, Martha Kearney, on how the government is handling the recession at the British Chambers of Commerce’s Annual Business Convention.

At the Convention, which will be held at the ICC in Birmingham on April 27, the Trade minister will answer questions on why the UK’s export sector is not fully benefiting from the falling value of sterling, and will provide details on the help government is offering businesses during the current economic downturn.

Other speakers at the Convention will include: Ken Clarke MP; Karren Brady, Managing Director of Birmingham City FC; Lord Karan Bilimoria, Founder & Chairman of Cobra Beer; Will Hutton; Nick Clegg MP; and Baroness Vadera, Minister for Economic Competitiveness and Small Business.
