To enter, companies must be UK–based, have been trading for at least two years, and employ fewer than 500 employees. The cost of entry is £35 plus VAT.

There are fourteen award categories businesses can apply for, including ‘best green business’, ‘innovative business of the year’ and ‘online business of the year’.

One outstanding entry will be crowned ‘overall winner’ by a panel of judges that includes entrepreneur James Caan, from the BBC’s Dragons’ Den.

Winners will benefit from wide–ranging media coverage and the use of the Fast Growth Business Award logo on their marketing literature. James Horley, editor of Growing Business, organisers of the Fast Growth Business Awards said:

“In a difficult environment for companies of all descriptions, the entrepreneurial firms who are delivering impressive growth deserve special recognition. The awards are a great opportunity to gain press coverage, network with your peers and show your staff, clients and suppliers that your achievements are being recognised,”

Last year’s overall winner, Perry Wilson, managing director of Insure and Go, said there were clear advantages to achieving an award.

“It is fantastic recognition for all the hard work put in by the team and a great platform from which to take the business to the next level,”.

The deadline for entries is 19 December 2008, and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 18 March 2009.
