ICT Purchasing Guide helps SMEs
Small businesses can access free advice on how to select IT products and services that best meet their needs, following the publication of a free guide from quality standard Accredit UK.
The ‘Guide to Purchasing ICT’ (Information and Communication Technology) contains advice specifically aimed at small–business owners. It includes sections on planning the purchase, detailing requirements, identifying suppliers and requesting a quotation, evaluating suppliers’ responses, selecting preferred suppliers and placing orders.
According to Accredit UK, many small firms see ICT as a specialist subject and find it confusing.
“The ICT guide will be an invaluable tool for any small firm which may find the technology sector full of jargon and slightly daunting,”
said Accredit UK director Vaughan Shayler.
“We developed the SME guide as a direct response to research conducted with the National B2B Centre, which revealed some of the common problems encountered by small businesses and public sector organisations when purchasing technology products and services,” he added.
