Last Chance to Win £50,000 for Your Business
The British Chambers of Commerce urge businesses to enter the Chamber Awards 2008
The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) is encouraging UK businesses not to miss the chance to win £50,000 (courtesy of the RBS Group) by entering the Chamber Awards 2008. The closing date for entries is the 27th June 2008 so there are only a few weeks left to make submissions.
The top prize will be awarded to the company that the judges agree should win the overall Award for Outstanding Business Achievement and will be announced along with the national winners at the Gala Dinner and Award Ceremony on 27th November 2008 at the Natural History Museum in London.
Last year this prize was won by Tyrrells Potato Chips Ltd. They used the money to fund research into the growing of their own organic oil seed rape. Tyrrells’ factory uses sunflower oil that is bought in from abroad and they wanted to produce their own oil from oil seed rape grown on its organic farm in order to further reduce their carbon footprint and reduce costs. They also planned to use this oil to fuel a generator that will power the factory site.
Overall there are eight different categories of Awards and companies wishing to gain the recognition they deserve both locally and nationally can enter as many as they wish. The categories comprise;
- Excellence in International Trade – RBS Group
- Entrepreneur of the Year – Xerox
- Most Promising New Business – BT
- Excellence in People Development – Learning Skills Council
- Innovation through Technology – Dell
- Green Award
- Business of the Year
- Excellence in Customer Service
Peter Mileham, President of the BCC commented;
“Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to celebrate and reward excellence in our British businesses. There are too few opportunities to recognise the hard work and contribution that business makes to our society. These awards could be your chance to get the recognition you deserve. Don’t miss out.”
Entry forms and judging criteria can be obtained by visiting www.chamberawards.co.uk. All entry forms must be completed and submitted electronically.
The Awards are open to all businesses.
